Dark Desires After Dusk

Hello, and welcome back! With the huge reading binge I've been on for the last several weeks, I've already finished the May romances (unless there are any late arrivals, which is always possible). That means I've gotten to dig into the June books already, and I'm enjoying what I've read so far.

For those of you who've been waiting impatiently for the next in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, your wait is just about over: Dark Desires After Dusk (Pocket Star) is coming very, very soon! Cadeon Woede's refusal to defend his brother's castle nine centuries ago lost his brother his crown and his kingdom. He's been trying to get it back ever since, and Cade's newest mercenary job should be successful in getting back his brother's kingdom. Except it turns out the 'Vessel' he's supposed to trade for the magic sword turns out to be the human woman he's been enthralled with for the last year, and Holly Ashwin had no idea a world like Cadeon's existed alongside her own, let alone that she's really a part of it. Holly finds herself attacked by demons who intend to use her for evil, but she changes inexplicably and manages to save herself. Then Cade appears and they're on the run, the rage demon and the new Valkyrie, trying to evade the other Lore creatures who're after her while they make their way toward a serious betrayal. Holly is awesome. She's got quirks and more quirks, but she's tough, much more so than she ever realized as she tries to decide if she prefers her old life to her new one. Cadeon is one sexy, conflicted demon, because turning Holly over means losing his fated mate, and the closer they get to their destination, the more determined he is not to give her up. But he can't tell her exactly what's going on. He also can't resist her, nor can she resist him. This latest addition to the series is absolutely awesome! Cadeon and Holly will keep you reading from start to finish, and then you'll want to pick it up and read it again, it's so great. I'm trying hard to resist that urge myself right now, but it's tough. I love this series, and I love this newest addition to it. I can't wait for the next book! This one's earned four and a half of Cupid's five arrows. Kresley Cole is absolutely the queen of paranormal romance.

Until next time, happy reading!
