Hello Friends,

Welcome to "Caribbean Hot Sauce". It’s my honor to take you island hopping, from the Bahamas to Trinidad, from The Cayman Islands to St Vincent, and all the Islands in between.

As your Caribbean Editor, I look forward to your questions, comments, and input on any or all of the topics of interest on this site. I consider myself very fortunate to be living in New York City, the melting pot of the world. It affords friends of vast flavors, or as I secretly refer to them as my Caribbean Spice Rack. Travels to exotic places in the Caribbean Islands have enlightened me to famous “liming” hot spots.

I know that many of you may have questions on foods, ingredients and where to buy them. I will also try to give the best info on vacationing in the islands, hotels, and entertainment. For sports fans, I can be instrumental in posting your information to expose your venues of cricket club parties, reunions and matches. In addition, feel free to enlist my help in your planning process of a great cricket picnic menu, after all cricket food has its very own culture.

Because Caribbean Cultural Events of these vast island populations are always happening, you can go to the link on my site for updates and postings listed under the heading of “Caribe Events.” Please keep me abreast on your upcoming events to attract a larger attendance. Church events are huge by Caribbean standards, so are holiday picnics, beach hang outs, yacht parties, and bus trips. But knowing when Caribana will take place in Toronto is important too, as well as what the theme and venue will be. In addition if there’s a famous person or place related to the Caribbean deserving to be spotlighted, send me the info and I will try to feature an article on that subject matter.

In 2007, I was very lucky to attend a Junkanoo Carnival in the Bahamas. My Bahamian friends made sure I had the most awesome food, and a bird’s eye view of the celebrations. My memories are now filled with the delicious Jack Bread served with Souse along with Watermelon, Lime, & Rum Cocktail while dancing to the island rhythms of steel pan.

So by signing up for my newsletter, you will be better kept informed on the latest happenings and newest of information.

Thanks, I so look forward to your emails.

Regards,
Deborah Barocas
