Murs - Sweet Lord

Murs - Sweet Lord
Murs and 9th Wonder are back once again and as the saying goes, the third time

is a charm. Sweet Lord is the latest offering and one of the best collaborative

efforts this year. The chemistry between these two is still on point, so fans in

the know should expect nothing less than greatness. The intro opens with Murs

restating the reason he is here, "to spit that positive music and continue the

fight" over a laid back but feel good beat. On "Are You Ready" 9th switches up

his style on the reggae esqe beat as Murs rides the tempo like the legend he is.

This is definitely head nodding hip-hop at it's best. Sweet Lord displays Murs

& 9th Wonder's chemisty. Reminiscent of the days of Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth when

the dj/producer and artist collaborated and gave the world memorable music,Sweet

Lord is no exception. On "Push" Murs bounces from bar to bar over 9th's

thunderous drums and stinging handclaps with tales of how he had to push his way

through trials and tribulations. This track stands out as soon as you hear it

and contiunes to follow Murs mission of spitting positive music. On listening to

Murs lyrical ability you can't help but wonder why it's taken this long for the

mainstream to accept Murs. In a game of watered down themes and uninspiring

verses Murs remains true to himself when others seem to hide behind the lights,

fame and image. Unashamed to bare his soul Murs lets the world know what he's

looking for in his future ladyh on the song "Marry Me". Sweet Lord is Murs & 9th

Wonder at their best. At a mere 10 tracks this album is all thriller no filler.

My faith in hip-hop has been restored thatnks to Murs ability to show the world

what a true hiphop artist is. With no references to guns, drugs or glorification

of the life Murs delivers on every song. With an upcoming official album coming

soon titled "Murs For President", Murs yet again shows us why he deserves our

votes.
