Hello, and welcome back! I hope you're all enjoying the onset of fall with lovely weather like we're having here. I also hope you're enjoying some of the new romances that have hit bookstore shelves for October.

This time out, I have the latest from Cherry Adair, Night Fall (Ballantine), which kicks off a new back-to-back T-FLAC trilogy. We get to go back to T-FLAC's paranormal arm with wizard Simon Blackthorne, who's doing a favor for a friend in Africa when he gets tangled up with Kess Goodall. Kess has been doing PR work in Mallaruza, rebuilding her career and life, and now there's a plague that's killing the people there, one she's trying hard to find the source of. Then Simon starts getting in her way, dogging her everywhere she goes (for her protection, though she doesn't know that yet), and he's a bit of a distraction to her in her work, to say the least. And that's just before the bad guys really get going. They'll have to work together to figure out just what's happening in Mallaruza, and they have to stay alive to defeat the villains. And maybe to fall in love as well. Adair is a master at creating a suspenseful situation and characters who rise to the challenges put before them. Kess and Simon also get an exotic setting while they're fighting foes and their hormones and emotions. I very much enjoyed revisiting Adair's wizards, and Simon is a yummy hero, to die for. Kess is strong-willed and a real match for Simon when he tries to overstep his bounds, not to mention dealing with finding out that she's fallen in love with a real live wizard in a world that's all too human and dangerous. The good news is, this ones is great. The bad news is we have to wait till the end of the month for the next one in the series, and then yet another month for the third book. The worse news is, we'll have to wait till next year for more Ms. Adair once this trilogy is finished. This one gets four of Cupid's five arrows.
