Edit Web Pages for Printing - Print What You Like
The internet offers boundless information on almost every subject. How to save that information for future reference can sometimes be a problem. A bookmark provides navigation back to the site, but sometimes that's not enough.
Websites disappear and content can change over time. Downloading the web page with graphics, banners and pictures is another option, but it can waste valuable memory on a computer. Printing an entire page for a small paragraph of information can waste paper and ink.
Let's face it, what works online doesn't always work on paper. Those colorful backgrounds, fancy fonts and advertisements don't always translate well to paper. Information can easily become buried in a busy printout which contains lots of useless content.
Coping and pasting into a word program can work, but an article often needs to be re-edited. Instead of copying, pasting and editing off line, why not edit the web page online? Then print (or save) what you like.

There's nothing to download or install. Begin by entering the URL of the website you wish to edit into the URL box located on the PrintWhatYouLike.com site and click start. An edit screen will appear on the left hand side of the screen, while the web page appears on the right.
Mouse over the page to highlight different areas and left click on the area you wish to edit. You can then choose to remove or isolate the highlighted areas. There are "remove pictures" and "remove background" buttons which will allow you to clear the page of those items with a single click.
Editing can be done with the menu in left frame, right clicking the mouse or with keyboard shortcuts. Click the help button for a listing of keyboard shortcuts.
Once editing is complete as the URL says, print what you like. There is also a save option at the top of the editing frame, which offers the option of saving the page in PDF or HTML formats.
