Yes.fm - Listen to music and learn Spanish
I discovered, few days ago, a new site. Although its name is Yes.fm, it is from Spain. They have agreements with several labels, so the problem about copyrights is no longer a problem. More, you can chose from lots of songs and artists, not only from Spanish speaking countries, but from all the world.

Music is classified under several categories. And what is really great, you can listen to a song and read the lyrics at the same time. You can also create your own playlist and the sound quality is really good.

As of today, it is still free, and all you need is to create a free account. I have to tell you, when this offer finishes, if you want to go on using Yes.fm, they will charge a very small fee: €3.95 (About $5.5 / 3.4 GBP). Personally, I think it is not much money, according to a quality-price relation.

I'm planning to upgrade my account as soon as this offer finishes. Not only to go on working in Spanish language songs with you, but also because I find quite useful the fact of listening to English language songs, having the lyrics right there too.

I've been listening to songs since I started studying English, and it helps me a lot. Memorizing lyrics helps me remember and learn new words and their pronunciations. And by singing those songs, that vocabulary remains in my head.

(Note some songs still haven't got lyrics.)

So, my proposal is listening and commenting a new song every month.
And what about starting right now?

So, this month, July 2009, we'll be listening to this song:

Limón y Sal, by Julieta Venegas

Scroll down and you'll find the list of songs in this album. Click on "Limón y Sal" and then on "escuchar". On the right margin the player will open and you will see, below this player, the text "letra". Click on it and you'll be able to read the lyrics of this song.

As you can see, there is no need to download any software, nothing!

I have created a new post in our forum, to talk about Spanish songs and their lyrics. Get involved and learn more Spanish!
