Just over a year ago we lost our little Chihuahua Baby Bear and are still working on mending our broken hearts from this loss. We didn’t get Baby Bear from a shelter but we did rescue her from a family who did not care for her. She came into our lives when she was 8 years old and my daughter brought her home with her. She was sick and badly in need of veterinary care. We nursed her back to health and were given so much love in return that we were the ones who were rescued. Last year we needed rescued again but we needed rescued from the heartbreak of losing her companionship and love. We found a new little Chihuahua online from a household looking for a home for a 9 month old loving little Chi but were also actively searching the shelters. We also know the joy of bringing a shelter dog into our lives. Several years ago my daughter adopted a wonderful larger floppy eared dog from the local shelter and we have all spent many hours enjoying this loving addition to our family. So when you’re determining where you want to give your tax deductible donations each year, don’t forget all the loving animals in the shelters all over the country.
