If you are looking for a reason to donate to Animal Shelters and Animal Rescue Organizations thereís the obvious opportunity to take a tax deduction if you itemize; and then thereís the opportunity to extend true charity and kindness by helping to care for rescued homeless animals. These worthy non-profit organizations are worth their weight in gold or at least your tax deductible contribution; and even if you are unable to make a monetary contribution you can still help with absolutely no cost to you by clicking on a link to donate food to shelters and the sponsors donate. At the end of this article you can donate if you click on the related link below.

Baby Bear ThumbnailJust over a year ago we lost our little Chihuahua Baby Bear and are still working on mending our broken hearts from this loss. We didnít get Baby Bear from a shelter but we did rescue her from a family who did not care for her. She came into our lives when she was 8 years old and my daughter brought her home with her. She was sick and badly in need of veterinary care. We nursed her back to health and were given so much love in return that we were the ones who were rescued. Last year we needed rescued again but we needed rescued from the heartbreak of losing her companionship and love. We found a new little Chihuahua online from a household looking for a home for a 9 month old loving little Chi but were also actively searching the shelters. We also know the joy of bringing a shelter dog into our lives. Several years ago my daughter adopted a wonderful larger floppy eared dog from the local shelter and we have all spent many hours enjoying this loving addition to our family.

So when youíre determining where you want to give your tax deductible donations each year, donít forget all the loving animals in the shelters all over the country.

You can also donate non-cash items to non-profit charities. For tax deductibility it is important to remember to GET A RECEIPT from the charity that documents your donation and to be sure that you verify an organization's tax-exempt status and eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. For more information on charitable contributions refer to IRS Publication 526.

Remember to donate food to shelters for homeless pets at no cost to you follow the related link below.
