Midnight's Master

Midnight's Master
Hello, and welcome back! I hope you're all staying nice and cool this week. Our weather is hot and sticky again, though I suppose it is that time of year. That doesn't make me like it any better, however. I'm already dreaming of fall and much cooler temperatures...while I stay inside the air conditioning as much as possible to do my reading and household things.

This time out, I have the latest from Cynthia Eden, Midnight's Master (Brava). This time out, our favorite sexy bad boy demon, Niol Lapen is back and badder than ever, and about to meet his match in television reporter Holly Storm, who knows more about his world than any human should. And she won't go away, which makes it harder for Niol to ignore the way she makes him feel. Holly is determined to find out exactly what's going on that started with the brutal murder of a demon, and she might get more trouble than she bargained for, aside from her sexy flirtation with Niol that is. She finds ways into places even more dangerous to her than his club for non-human patrons, and Niol realizes he just can't let anything happen to her even if he knows that nothing lasting can come of their relationship. After all, his past is so dark and bleak, and her own life holds a secret she never dreamed of. In the previous books in this series, we've seen Niol in the background, and he's always been dangerous and sexy. In this one, we get a much, much better view of him, warts and all, and he's so much better than one could have imagined. Of course, we get to revisit people from past stories, which is nice, but they're definitely not the main focus here, which is just as it should be. Niol and Holly are terrific, and their romance burns up the pages. Even though Niol doubts he can be all she needs, Holly knows otherwise, and so will readers. I'm giving this one four of Cupid's five arrows. It's great!

Until next time, happy reading!
