Sylvester Stallone has decided to get back into the film director's chair for the 2010 release "The Expendables." This action movie is a genre-fan's dream cast: Stallone has assembled a team including Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews, Steve Austin and a cameo from California governor and former Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger. As you can see from the movie poster shown here, this movie is going to have some tattoos. The story is about a band of mercenaries who are hired go to South America to overthrow a dictator. A few internet reports from the set have indicated that each member of the team has some version of the crow tattoo that you see on the poster. Some characters might have it as an arm tattoo. In the image below, it might be what Stallone's character is getting on his back, but you can tell it's not actually him shown in the poster as he's got elaborate short-sleeve tattoos in real-life and those feature in the movie as well, which you can see below.
Along with the fake tattoos for the movie, there's definitely no shortage of read ink as both Rourke and Stallone have each built up some decent tattoo collection of their own. In this still from the movie, you see Stallone who plays Barney Ross, the leader of the team. Mickey Rourke plays a character named Tool who is a tattoo artist. This looks like a "movie tattoo" and not a real one in that Rourke is holding the tattoo rig in a manner that wouldn't work well for tattooing at all, and he's not wearing gloves, something that's medically dangerous. But hey, it's a movie....
