Passion Untamed

Passion Untamed
Hello, and welcome back! It's an absolutely gorgeous, long holiday weekend here, and I'm actually off on the holiday! Not that there aren't plenty of household chores to keep me busy anyway, but I'm going to enjoy having a holiday off for a change. Maybe finish reading the review book I've got started already. I'm well into the September books, and having a terrific time with them.

This time out, I have Pamela Palmer's Passion Untamed (Avon), the third in her Feral Warriors series. Paenther's hated all of the Mage for centuries, ever since the witch Ancreta imprisoned him, trying to steal his animal spirit. Now he's gone and got himself caught by another witch. Only Skye isn't like Ancreta. Sure, she captured him and is now being forced to use him to help free daemons. But she makes him want things he know he can't possibly manage. Still, when he escapes (with her assistance), he takes her with him. They generate some serious heat, these two, but Paenther knows it can only be temporary. After all, he and his brothers are fighting the Mage to stop them from freeing evil into the world. But he'll protect her any way he can, never realizing that his heart is way too involved for this to stay casual. Skye would like nothing better than to stay with this strong, sexy warrior for all time, but she knows eventually she'll have to return to her master or die a miserable, painful death. Besides, his brothers can't bear to have her in the house, as her magic does strange things to them when she's around, even when she's unable to actually direct her abilities. Still, she can't stop hoping they can find a way to stay together. I am really, really enjoying this series. Sure, the guys' names are silly, but these are some seriously sexy men, fighters and protectors, and their mates are strong, capable women, more than their match. Skye and Paenther set off sparks from the very beginning, and Skye is the only person who can possibly save Paenther from his past. My only disappointment with this one is that we have to wait till next year for the next book in the series. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
