Ohio’s Amish Country


Ohio is home to the world’s largest Amish community. Although there are small communities of Amish scattered around the state the largest concentration is located near Holmes County, above and to the east of Columbus. In Holmes and surrounding counties you’ll find beautiful back roads that ripple across the rolling landscape of farms, small towns, and scenic country settings.

A visit to Ohio’s Amish Country allows you to slow down to a horse-n-buggy pace, learn more about the Amish heritage and to enjoy and experience the region famous for its friendliness, food, and fine craftsmanship. Lehman’s Hardware, Kidron - Founded in 1955 by Jay Lehman to serve the local Amish, today Lehman’s is one of the world’s largest purveyors of new old products. You’ll also find a newly reconstructed 1840’s era barn, a high tech demonstration room, a cafe, indoor and outdoor seating, expanded displays and interactive demonstration areas.
