Most Pierced Man for 2010It's not that often that the Guinness Book of World Records has a new body art record holder. The extremes to which the winners go takes decades of endurance and dedication, something that won't happen all too often. But for their 2010 edition, they do have a new winner in the category of most body piercings. The new record holder is seventy-eight-year-old, retired bank manager Jon Lynch. Mr. Lynch lives in Apsely, Hertfordshire in England. He earned the title with a total of two hundred and forty-one (241) permanent piercings on his body. It's been noted that nearly one hundred and fifty of these are located on his head and neck. He's also extensively tattooed, but has not achieved any records relating to that form of body art. Previously, the record for most pierced man was held by Luis Antonion Aguero from Cuba. Mr. Aguero's piercings totaled two hundred and thirty. Lynch didn't get started with his piercings until he was in his forties, after many years of working for Barclays Bank. A few interviews with him have noted that he recalls the first piercing was an eyebrow ring. Now, three decades later, that single piercing is part of a pair of extensive rows that now form his eyebrows. And those are just a few dozen of many more done all over his face. Mr. Lynch did note that to make sure he achieved the new record, he had a couple dozen piercings added to his arms in a short time period. In case you were wondering just how you get 150 piercings on your head and neck, it's by placing them very close to one another and piercing through just about any skin surface that is loose enough to pierce through. Obviously, most of these are going to be on the face and neck, and not all over the skull. Ears, eyebrows, lips and folds of neck skin often are areas where tightly-packed rows of piercings can be made. No word yet from anyone on what it's like to try and sleep with (literally) a faceful of piercings.
