Untraceable

Guest Author - Elizabeth Darrach

Hello, and welcome back! Winter is really here, it seems, and this year, it's actually brought us some snow. True, the most recent snowfall was just a dusting, but we're expecting more in a few days, and that makes me very, very happy.

I've still got a couple December books to share with you, as work slowed me down tremendously in December. That'll happen when you work in a shopping mall. This time out, I have the latest from Laura Griffin, Untraceable (Pocket Star). P.I. Alexandra Lovell has been known to help battered women disappear into safer new lives, but one of her clients has come back and now Alex fears she's been murdered by her abusive husband, who happens to be a cop. When the client's current address of record is blown to smithereens in an explosion, Alex is sure of it, so she turns to detective Nathan Devereaux for help. Nathan and Alex have slightly more than a passing acquaintance, but neither has yet acted on the attraction they share, and now is definitely not the time, when they might be on opposite sides of this investigation. That doesn't mean the attraction can be ignored, though, and it gets in the way at some very inconvenient times for Alex's comfort. Then, too, it seems her aid of Melanie, and her current digging into Melanie's whereabouts, have stirred other interest, and Alex finds herself in danger as deep as she imagines Melanie is in if she's still alive. I've been a big fan of Laura Griffin since her first book release, and I quite enjoyed this addition to her body of work as well. Alex is a strong woman, with more than a few complicated twists to her personality. Nathan is a knight in modern shining armor, determined to do his job to the best of his ability, and equally set on protecting Alex as their connection deepens, and even more as facts in the case come to light that neither of them could have anticipated. I can't wait for the next book in this series, and only hope the publisher doesn't make us wait too long for it. This one has earned four and a half of Cupid's five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
