Desperate Deeds

Desperate Deeds
Hello, and welcome back! It's not quite as miserable here as it's been in recent weeks, though still too muggy to sit outside comfortably with my reading material or to write. Fortunately, I know summer is coming to a close, whether Mother Nature likes it or not, which means cooler days aren't too far away. Still plenty of time to take my books outside to read.

But while we're trapped indoors by the horrid summer weather, I've been busy reading. This time out, I have the latest from Dee Davis, Desperate Deeds (Grand Central, received from publisher), the third in her A-Tac series. This time, explosives expert Tyler Hanson is the only survivor of a routine op gone bad, and while she's trying to wrap her head around that, she meets the very sexy Owen Wakefield, a British operative whose come to find out what went wrong with her op and if she had anything to do with the theft of some very valuable detonators. Except that Tyler doesn't realize exactly what his orders are until it's much too late and she's gotten far too involved with the sexy Brit to salvage her heart. Still, she's got to work with him anyway to discover exactly who the A-Tac traitor is and put a stop to their activities. I may have mentioned a time or two what a huge fan of Dee Davis I am and how happy I am that she's finally back with this new series and a new publisher. But I don't mind mentioning either again. Davis is terrific, weaving the intrigue smoothly into the steamy romance with characters you'll fall in love with along the way. Owen is hot, and Tyler is smart, a combination I adore. When Tyler meets Owen, neither intends to let any emotions get involved, but we all know how those good intentions work out at times. In this instance, it's for the best, as readers are treated to an absolutely fantastic romance. Even better, we get to revisit, as secondary characters, folks we've met in the previous two books in the series. I'm hoping we get to visit more of these characters in future books, as well. Dee Davis is awesome! I can't wait till her next romance lands on my desk. This one's earned four and a half of Cupid's five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
