Important Pages Every Blog Should Have
There are written and unwritten rules about what pages are required or should be a part of every blog. Include each of these to give your readers the information they need about your blog.
About Page
The About page can stand as a short bio of your work or reasons for creating your blog. Consider a short bio of three to five sentences or three small paragraphs if you have more to cover. It can link to other standard pages you create.
Contact Page
A Contact page gives your readers the information they need on how to contact you. It can be as simple as a link to a contact page to email you via a service like Kontactr or a WordPress plugin like Contact Forms 7. Subscriber
The Subscriber page, or Subscribe with Us page, is a page where readers can sign-up for newsletters or emails you send out to readers. It could include something as simple as info on how to sign up for your blog’s RSS feed, or a detailed contact form with subscriber options of your email offerings (weekly or daily updates or updates by category etc.).
Disclaimer Page
The Disclaimer page informs your readers of if and how you are compensated for products you promote. DisclosurePolicy.org is a helpful disclosure policy generator that assists you in writing the content for your Disclaimer page.
Advertise with Us
When your blog is found prominently during a keyword search using the top search engines (via Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.), the searcher may consider your blog worthy of their advertising dollars. Like most major websites, many blogs create an Advertise with Us page.
There is no right or wrong way to create an advertisement page. You don’t have to have a media kit created, or list fees, it can be as simple as what types of advertisements are allowed and where you allow them. You can create a custom contact page for advertising inquiries or link them to your blog’s official Contact page.
This is in no way a comprehensive list of pages that would offer your readers extra value when visiting your blog. However, the five blog pages covered offer the most important information a reader would need when visiting your blog site.
