Myst Classic Puzzle Game

Myst was the puzzle game that began the breakthrough in great graphics. Many players bought this to show off its amazing graphics to their friends.

The graphics were really the key selling point of this game. They were mind-boggling gorgeous for the time. Note that they were all static images, so in essence you were walking through a series of screenshots. You could turn, and go forward, but each movement would load a new screenshot.

Each land had a different feel to it, and in each one the puzzles were integral to the style of the land. The puzzles were quite challenging, but in each case logical thought could get you through it. There was no violence at all, no combat, no ticking timers. Just you, the lovely landscapes, and the puzzles to work through.

While it's been many years since Myst enthralled millions, it's still just as enjoyable for those who haven't tried its puzzles yet. You can usually find the original Myst game on shelves and used at many game trading sites. You can also look for Myst Masterpiece, which is the original game with better sound plus built in hints and a map. A third option is Real Myst which takes the original Myst landscape and turns it into a more 3D world.

Definitely a game that any puzzle-lover should try!
