Minute Suites: Retreat From Layovers in Atlanta

Minute Suites: Retreat From Layovers in Atlanta
It is so difficult to sleep on airplanes. It can be just as difficult to find a place to nap in an airport during long layovers or delayed flights. But options for quiet places in the form of private suites are now becoming available, starting with Minute Suites in the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport. These private suites offer HDTV and internet access, sofa sleepers and power sources to recharge your electronics.

Minutes Suites are Located in the Atlanta Airport

Located in Terminal B adjacent to Gate 15, Minute Suites looks like the entrance to a small business-looking spa. The receptionist is friendly, the storefront is professional. What lies inside is a place to take a breather and catch some Z’s between flights. Or, simply have a private room to make phone calls, send emails, or catch up on the news.

Amenities and Facilities at Minute Suites in Atlanta

Minute Suites is operated by Business Traveler Services, and boasts itself as the very first facility of its kind at any U.S. airport. Those of you who have traveled abroad, such as through Asia, will recognize this concept. The facility has 5 private suites, each featuring a daybed sofa, pillows with fresh blankets, sound-masking system, a high definition television with DIRECTV and convertible to a computer with internet and the airport’s flight tracking system, a desk, a phone, and an office chair.

The suite is what I would describe as a clean and well equipped mini version of a 3-Star hotel room, or large enclosed cubicle, without a toilet or bathing facilities. If you need to use the restroom, you will need to go out to the public facilities in the terminal.

It’s a perfect nook to take a conference call when you need absolute confidentiality. It’s also a great place to grab a nap or simply lay down between flights. I did not take food in with me, and did not ask about such rules, so if you would like to take a meal in with you, verify with the receptionist first if that is allowed. As you know, many airline clubs do not allow you to bring food in from outside the facility, and although different than a club, be sure to check the rules on this issue before having to decide to miss your appointment or throw away your food.

Minute Suites Reservations and Pricing

Minute Suites has a convenient reservations system. Considering the few number of suites, reservations are recommended. Please call 404-762-7660 or email them to inquire about availability and reserve online at info@minutesuites.com.

Pricing is based on the minimum of one hour ($30), and $7.50 for each 15-minute interval thereafter. Overnight pricing from 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. is $120, and a discount of 25% is offered for any stay of 8 hours or more. Please inquire for military, flight attendant, and pilot specials. Also, if you are a Delta Skymiles member, you will earn 1 mile for each dollar spent at Minute Suites.

Travel healthily.
