Teen Titans Aimed At The Younger Crowd We love the tv show Teen Titans at our home. Maybe it's because my husband is a comic book freak, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. He loves anything dealing with comic books and has passed this love onto his children. And yes, I will even admit to being sucked into this wonderful world of fantasy! Teen Titans is an animated show based on popular comic book characters by DC Comics. The show originally aired on Cartoon Network for five seasons before it was cancelled. You can now catch the show on Boomerang, check your local listing for times. My oldest daughter's Mia favorite thing about Teen Titans is the comedy and action. Her favorite character is Beast Boy, a superhero that can take the form of any animal he wants. My youngest daughter, Emma likes Beast Boy as well because he is so funny! Teen Titans is a superhero team consisting of five members. The members are Robin, Batman's sidekick voiced by Scott Menville, Beast Boy voiced by Greg Cipes, Cyborg voiced by Khary Payton, Raven voiced by Tara Strong, and Starfire voiced by Hynden Walch. Unlike other superhero shows the characters are always in superhero costume and they do not have a secret identity in the show. While the show is an action cartoon it is also character driven as the characters are trying to figure out how to interact with each other, other people and on top of all that being teenage superheros. The teens base of operation is a large T shaped building called Titan Towers, that combines their living quarters, command center, as well as their hangar/garage space where they store their vehicles. Titan Towers is built on an island just off a fictional West Coast city named, Jump City. Teen Titans is heavily influenced by anime. And the theme song even alternates between Japanese and English lyrics. Some people have found the show to be too childish and some have even complained about the hybrid American/Japanese animation. The show is intended for a younger audience but does have some darker episodes that parents should be aware of. All in all is a cute show that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
