Gift ideas for Quilters
Quilt DVD’s
Quilt DVD’s are great for quilters who are isolated and are unable to shop at the patchwork store. There is a plethora of DVD’s available for quilters to use in their own homes at their own pace. Lots of tutorial DVD’s have been published that cover just about every genre of patchworking and every technique known to quilters.
Other DVD’s include films about quilts, such as a favourite of mine – How to Make and American Quilt.
Quilt Fabric
Most quilters would love to receive fabric for a gift, and would especially love to receive fabric they love. There are many stores who retail fabrics from just about every genre. Florals, Checks, Plaids, Childrens, Animals, Sports, Quilting – you name it and there’s a fabric out there just for you.
Don’t forget, a great gift idea is to wrap your gift in fabric for your favoriate quilter. They’ll love you for it!
Quilt Books
Not only are there thousands of quilt technique books out there, but lots of novels that have been written with a focus on quilting. There are also wonderful reference books for quilters, with all manner of advice and information.
Don’t forget quilters like to journal, so there are lots of different journal and diary ideas available for quilters also.
Quilt Notions
Quilting is supposed to be a “make do” craft, but (luckily for us) there are many clever quilters out there designing wonderful notions and tools to make our quilting more pleasurable and enjoyable. Google quitling notions and you will have a lifetime of surfing in front of you. Don’t be afraid to ask your quilter what notions she would like to receive. That makes it pretty easy, I think!
Quilt magazine subscriptions
Most quilters have a favoriate quilt magazine or two, and sometimes it’s difficult to choose between fabric or a magazine. Why not purchase a magazine subscription for 2011 for your quilting friend.
Quilt Shop Gift Voucher
This one seems an easy way out but your quilter will be very grateful to have a bunch of money to spend at their leisure in a quilt shop. That’s about as close to quilt heaven that you can get!
Long Arm Quilter Gift voucher
It’s possible that your quilter loves to make quilt tops, but struggles to finish them, because they’re not too confident with their machine quitling. Shout them a Long Arm Quilt voucher for their next creation and what them beam!
