The Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942 lets you use modern weapons in a desert battlefield. Replay scenes similar to the War in Iraq on your home PC.

We've been playing this on line quite a bit and enjoy it immensely. The site claims that over 6,000 players are on line at any given time, and that this is more than the base 1942 game draws. Pretty amazing for a recent mod!

The modern weapons, aircraft and tanks in the desert landscapes have an understandable draw in the current CNN-bombarded world we live in. If you're a fan of real time team-based combat, this is definitely a mod to download.
