What's Ahead for Floral Design

A little dab will do when it comes to perfume. But you can never have too many flowers.

Flowers are the perfect decorating accessory. They’re suitable for every style of home décor. Whether it’s a grand country home or a cottage on the beach, there are floral arrangements and colors to complement every need.

9/ll brought about significant changes in American life. Now people are sticking close to home where they feel safe. Flowers can bring a sense of security to our surroundings.

Florals are for every day and every occasion. Special arrangements may be used to provide seasonal interests or special holiday touches.

Take full advantage of the many benefits flowers have to offer. They put smiles on people’s faces, and uplift our spirits.

In a poem, Anne Morrow wrote, “Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day.”

When it comes to their practical uses, floral arrangements are very versatile. Let flowers greet your guests before you can answer your door. This is easy to do by hanging a basket of everlastings or wreath at the entrance. A pleasing centerpiece can help break the ice at your next dinner party.

Roses may be the queen of the flowers. However there are many fine blooms from which we can choose. Use the exotic ones for accent purposes. These blossoms are so distinct they might detract from the others in an arrangement. Examples would be anthuriums and proteas.

Flowers are special. But there are many other suitable floral materials. These include foliage, woody stems from trees and shrubs, berried boughs, and even fruits and vegetables.

Future articles will touch on these subjects, and many more relating to floral design, such as profiles of individual florals. There’ll be articles with step-by-step directions on how to choose the best floral materials, how to prepare them, how to use them, etc. Innovative floral designers and their cutting edge arrangements and techniques will be profiled. Various floral events will be highlighted.

Creativity is the goal. Everyone can do floral design.
