America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration  As I stood under the huge flag that waved proudly in the breeze above the “America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration” in Plymouth Massachusetts, I had tears welling up in my eyes several times. The show being put on at the bandstand was moving, inspiring and certainly entertaining. Magical Menemsha in Chilmark  Of the many magical and enlightening experiences that I have had at Menemsha, a fishing village that sits on Chilmark Harbor of Martha's Vineyard island, one of them stands out in my memory.

At night you can hear the music and people partying and having fun, sometimes even from the rooftops. Sturbridge Village  Two large draft horses pulled a wagon full of jubilant visitors along the oval dirt path at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. I was delighted to see all of the simple lanterns that lined the pathway, each with a single twinkling candle inside. There was something magical about its simplicity.
