Here is a beautiful pattern designed by Cherie Wheeler just last year. The pattern is elegant yet very simple, made up of traditional style square motifs.

This doily is made up of a circle of tatted crosses. You could use this idea for many other cross patterns as it is very effective.

Here is a doily made up of little hearts. Very pretty! However, the illustration is rather faded and difficult to read.

This is an interesting technique which is not seen much these days but was quite often seen in Ann Orr´s books. The doily consists of straight edgings which are joined together to create a fabric.
