Andy Dufresne, a banker, is found guilty of killing his wife and her lover. Sent to spend the rest of his life incarcerated, Andy learns to cope with life in prison with fellow inmates, guards and the warden. During the years, he befriends Red, a fellow inmate, and develops a niche using his experience as a banker to find favor with the guards. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Shawshank Redemption”.

· Caution: May Contain Spoilers! After Andy is reported missing, Warden Norton is walking outside the cells, telling the guard he wants everyone on the cell block questioned. In the close-up, front view of the Warden, when he says, “start with that friend of his, him”, he points at Red with his left hand. The scene cuts to a close-up of Red and it’s Norton’s right hand that’s pointed at him.

· Caution: May Contain Spoilers! The knot in Warden Norton’s tie is gold when talking to Haig and Hadley. A few moments later, in Red’s cell, just before discovering the hole behind the poster, the knot in the tie is black.

· Caution: May Contain Spoilers! The Feds are banging on Warden Norton’s office door. A close-up of him loading the gun shows bullets on his desk, to the right and left of his hands as he snaps the chamber shut. It cuts to a front view and there are only bullets to his left.

· Caution: May Contain Spoilers! Warden Norton shoots himself in his office. There is a large bullet hole to the right side of the window, with blood splattered around it. The scene pans out after he fires, and there’s only a small hole in the middle of the window and more blood.

· Caution: May Contain Spoilers! Also, during this scene, there is a black and white picture in a white frame, sitting upright on his desk. When the scene pans out, the picture is now tilted toward the lamp.

“The Shawshank Redemption” (1994) stars Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, William Sadler, Clany Brown, Gil Bellows, Mark Rolston, James Whitmore and Jeffrey DeMunn. It runs 142 minutes and is rated R for language and prison violence.
