Pearly Gates Climbing Roses
Recommended for zones four through nine, Pearly Gates climbing rose is typical of many climbing roses, for this can grow to be fourteen feet tall. It can also be described as large since it has a spread of eight to twelve feet.
The disease resistant plant will tolerate some shade. Introduced in 1999 by Weeks Roses, this originated as a sport of the America climbing rose. Pearly Gates climbing rose has the same growth habit as America rose.
Pearly Gates is a repeat bloomer with flowering being most heavy from late spring throughout the fall. The exquisite blooms clothe the stems all the way to the ground.
These roses are very full due to their high petal count—up to 35. They feature an intense fragrance, which is a combination of rose and spice.
Pearly Gate roes look almost double, and are up to five inches wide. They appear on new and old wood. The petals are a lovely pastel pink to pearl pink.
Top Gun Shrub Rose

This very disease resistant rose can withstand rose rosette, which has become more prevalent in recent years. The bushy, vigorous, rounded, medium height shrub has been characterized as “tough as nails.” It is recommended for zones four through ten.
Withstanding some shade, Top Gun rose is best suited to the eastern states. Introduced in 2018 by Weeks Roses, this was hybridized by Tom Carruth. Its parentage includes Memorial Day and Home Run roses.
Top Gun rose reaches three to four feet in height with an equal spread. Weeks Roses describes this variety as the “best of the best.”
