Zorba Red and Rosenkuppel Oreganos

Zorba Red Oregano
Available from Richters, Zorba Red oregano is a variety of the common oregano. Recommended for zones five through nine, this oregano grows to three feet in height with a spread of over two feet. The plant has a spreading growth habit.
Zorba Red oregano is suitable for borders, flower beds, rock gardens, pots and other containers—especially hanging baskets, and herb gardens. This herb has a mild flavor. It features scented green leaves.
The plant can also be used for medicinal purposes. Zorba Red oregano blooms from early summer into fall. The cascading flower stems contain purple-red blossoms dotted with white.
Rosenkuppel Oregano
Rosenkuppel oregano is a type of ornamental oregano. It was listed in the 2020 Select Seeds and Bluestone Perennials catalogs. Mountain Valley Growers lists its hardiness as zones six through eleven, while some other sources recommend it for zones five through nine.

The flowers are well liked by bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. The flower stems can be used as a dried flower.
This herb prefers full sun. Easy to grow, the upright plant reaches two feet or so in height.
The scented, blue-green to deep green leaves form clusters. The long blooming plant is very free flowering with blooms appearing all summer through August. The blossoms form clusters.
The showy, two toned flowers are deep rose or pink-lavender with white. These are held above the foliage. They retain their color well.
