Many scrapbookers have a hard time justifying the expense of going away for a weekend just to scrapbook. Getting away for the weekend to scrapbook with family or friends is so therapeutic and refreshing! Not to mention a fabulous way to reconnect and have quality time with a friend. We all need a chance to just sit back and be creative without interruptions!
Scrapbookers have found that if they do not intentionally schedule time to scrapbook, they never get around to it. If you schedule the time to scrap, and don't have friends scrapping with you to keep you accountable, you will often talk yourself out of scrapping in order to get other things done around the house. Going to a weekend retreat helps with this a lot!
I try to go to at least one weekend retreat per year. That is my dedicated time to gather together with friends and spend the weekend scrapbooking. The sounds of conversation and laughter fill the crop room all weekend. New friendships are made and old friendships are brought even closer together! Mothers come with their adult daughters. Aunts came with nieces. Sisters come to just have time alone together. Friends come in groups of 5 and more! Some people come alone and meet new friends!
Scrapbooking is really so much more than just preserving your families memories. Scrapbooking is truly a great way to fellowship and spend time with people that you love!
Find a retreat or book a cabin or hotel room for your group. When booking a location that is not specialized for scrapbooking you will want to check on the amount of tables they have available, lighting, etc. Once the location is decided, gather some friends and schedule a weekend away to scrapbook! You deserve the break and the quality time with your friends!
