Here's a new updated list hot off the press for you. I have researched all the URLs listed. Only the top are listed here. They are listed in order of Page Rank, or PR. PR is Google.com's way to help you navigate to the strongest websites according to your search query.

There is no need to list the endless free article submission sites that have very low or no page rank. If their page rank is low, you will not get any exposure or traffic from your article. So, it is a waste of your time. Be wary of article submission software as well. In this case, more is definitely not better.

Whether you are looking to get published with an article or two for the first time, or you are looking to submit articles you have written so they will get picked up and distributed online by newsletters or ezines, or you want a place to write and be seen...then this is the list for you!

First, though, it is important to understand the nature of this beast. In past years, auto-submitting your articles to thousands of article directories was one of the biggest things online. However, when you checked your traffic stats, you learned all that work usually produced very little worthwhile results.

You need to first determine your goal. Then you can utilize this list in the most productive and worthwhile manner for you.

First, ask yourself these questions:

What is your main goal for submitting articles to article directories?

a. Are you a new writer with no published articles? Do you want to get your feet wet and begin to learn the art of writing and publishing online?

b. Are you a writer that is looking to brand yourself or expand your exposure?

c. Do you have a website and you want to get more traffic and high quality backlinks to help you boost your writing career and establish yourself in the writing niche of your choice?
If you answered yes to any of the three questions, you can use the list below. Even though the three questions are very different, the sites listed below are the very best to help any or all three of the goals listed above.
