FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

~~December 21 is Winter Solstice. It is the day of year with the shortest amount of daylight and marks the official beginning of winter. Winter Solstice represents rebirth and regeneration. I have always liked that idea, it gives me something to look forward to. Our December quote below applies to life as well as cooking.

~~From our readers. More on Gebhardt Chili Powder. Tamara at Mild Bill's sent an e-mail to me. I am sharing with you per her permission.

Hi Vannie -

I saw your recipe for Prize Winning Chili and wanted to comment about the
Gebhardt Chili Powder. Gebhardt is by far the most popular chili powder in
the US and is a very excellent product. It is widely available in the
South/Southwest in most grocery stores.

Our company - Mild Bill's Spices, etc. - also sells Gebhardt chili powder
along w/ about 30 other varieties of Chili Powder and Chili Blends. We
ship daily to those areas where good chili powder isn't so readily available.

Thanks for your time,
