Installing Kwik 2 In Photoshop

Installing Kwik 2 In Photoshop
Kwik 2 works as a plug-in for PhotoshopR to help you build your storybook app. Once installed, the plug-in has its own panel and controls for building the pages in your app. When ready to preview or publish your book app, Kwik 2, along with the Corona SDK, will generate the app for the mobile device of your choice. You will need to have Photoshop and Corona SDK installed prior to installing Kwik.

  1. Download the Kwik 2 zip file and expand the file. You will have one file called Kwik2.mxp.

  2. Open the AdobeR Extension Manager that came packaged as part of your Creative Suite or stand-alone Photoshop software. You must use the Extension Manager for your corresponding version of Photoshop. For example, if you have Photoshop CS5.1, you will need to use Extension Manager CS5.5. For Photoshop CS6, you will use Extension Manager CS6. In these tutorials, we will be working with Photoshop CS5.1.

  3. Once the Extension Manager has opened, click the Install button.

  4. Browse to the Kwik2.mxp file and click Open.

  5. Accept the Kwik 2 license.

After a few seconds, you will see the Kwik 2 (K2) plugin listed under Photoshop CS5.1. You can also check the Photoshop CS5.1 application folder to verify that the plugin has been installed.

  6. If you have Photoshop open, you will need to close and restart the program.

  7. Once you have restarted Photoshop, you can open the Kwik 2 plugin from the Menubar. Click Windows - Extensions - K2.

  8. The Kwik 2 panel will appear and the Welcome screen will open. At this time, you need to designate the Kwik plugin as a "trusted application".

  9. Click on the Setup Flash button on the Welcome screen to open the Global Security Settings panel in your web browser. Follow the instructions for adding a new folder location to the list of trusted applications.
