Legal Genealogist Review

Legal Genealogist Review
The Legal Genealogist is a wonderful resource written by Judy G. Russell. Her her personal bio she writes, “I’m a genealogist with a law degree, and my purpose here at The Legal Genealogist is, in part, to help folks understand the often arcane and even impenetrable legal concepts and terminology that are so very important to those of us studying family history. Without understanding the context in which events took place and records were created, we miss so much of both the significance and the flavor of what happened.”

I have enjoyed reading and learning from Judy’s blog. She has a legal background and understands the concepts and writes them in a way that those not in the legal field can understand. Some of the categories that Judy writes about are
  • Constitutions
  • Copyright
  • Court Cases
  • DNA
  • General
  • Legal definitions
  • Methodology
  • My family
  • Primary Law
  • Resources
  • Statutes
  • Terms of use
  • Uncategorized
One exciting feature is Sunday's blog; it is focused on DNA. It is a time to learn more about DNA, genealogy and keep updated on the latest news in this exciting emerging field in genealogy.
