Craft Business Marketing Videos

Craft Business Marketing Videos
No matter the type of business, marketing videos are one of the best ways to get your product noticed and hopefully increase sales. This is not lost on the hobby and craft industry. You can find numerous videos on YouTube and other video sharing sites made by hobby crafters using their favorite products.

On the other hand, many craft companies have created YouTube channels to feature their products. However the marketing approach varies with these companies. Let’s take a look at four.

One of the most successful new craft companies, SVGCuts has a YouTube channel with over 8,000 subscribers at this time and of course many other followers who have not officially subscribed. This five-years-old company sells downloadable SVG craft files for personal cutting machines such as the Silhouette Cameo. On this one channel, they have a large amount of videos and almost 2,000,000 views. Most of these videos are either 2 - 3 minutes product trailers that showcase one of their SVG kits or assembly tutorials for a kit which lasts on the average of 30 minutes. Cleverly they reuse the SVG kit trailer as an introduction to the longer assembly tutorial video, getting twice the milage from their videos.

Another example is the Graphic 45 scrapbook and paper crafting company which also has a YouTube channel with over 2,000 views. However, this channel only has 4 videos created by the company. The rest of the 40+ videos are customer made videos added to their YouTube Favorite Videos list. These videos have been made by some of their 766 subscribers.

Scrapbook.com, a 12 year old crafting business, has grown into one of the most popular scrapbooking websites. Their YouTube channel has over 16,000 subscribers and 5,000,000 views. Most of their videos are “on the scene’ clips showing their products being introduced at the CHA Craft and Hobby Association trade shows. They also have a few scrapbooking technique videos as well as a few demo videos for some of their products.

Next we have The Robin's Nest, which is a manufacturing company for craft products. They uploaded their first video to YouTube just one year and now have 32 videos introducing their products and featuring projects created with their products.

As you can see, there are many ways to use video marketing to increase your customer base and sales. The large amount of video marketing used by SVGCuts is one reason for their company’s fast rise in the industry. On the other hand, Graphic 45 is a good example of marketing on a small budget as they collect customer created videos onto their YouTube channel.
