Edison Light Low Carb Beer

Edison Light Low Carb Beer
Edison Light Low Carb Beer had a fantastic story. A female brewer, Rhonda Kallman, was making this out of her home. Unfortunately, the FDA's actions shut it all down.

It's not that the FDA had any problems with Edison Light. However, Rhonda's brewery, New Century Brewery, only had two products. They were Edison Light, the low carb beer, and then Moonshot, which was a beer plus caffeine. The FDA decided in 2011 that it had had enough of people getting drunk and full of energy at the same time. When they nixed her Moonshot, she wasn't left with enough money to keep going. So the whole company had to fold.

A sad result for Edison Light, which had good reviews and good stats:

6.5g carbs
109 calories
4% alcohol
12oz

Sure, not the lowest carbs in the world, but this was a small brewery trying to make a mark in the world. I always support that. It's a shame that some sort of a solution couldn't be found to keep it going.

I was never able to try Edison Light - apparently it was a small operation and not that much was made.
