Inverted Bob

Inverted Bob
The Bob hairstyle seems to be immortal. This hair cut has been around for decades, is always in style and is constantly up-dating itself. In every new fashion trend there is some form of new Bob hair style.
Tapered all around the perimeter so that it hugs your neck, this inverted bob is the most recent and the most stylish. It provides the ease and sophisticated style of the previous bobs but is up-to-the-minute in fashion.

The cut:
The nape section (That’s the hair at the lowest part of your scalp where it becomes your neck.) is trimmed into a curve that gently encircles the neck.
It is shorter in the center back, with a length of about one inch. It is tapered and stacked to give it 'poof' in the crown. Many of the previous bob hair cuts were flat in the crown. You will notice that the nape area is not tapered so much that it appears thin, but is left heavy and soft. Following the curve, this area is graduated up into the shortest layer in the crown. The shortest layer of the crown is at the level of the occipital bone. (That’s the bone that bulges out and forms the shape at the back of your head.)
The short hair at the center nape gradually gets longer, blending into the longer sides.
The longer hair at the sides begins about ½ inch behind your ear. These sides are texturized so that they fall forward in pieces instead of the solid curtain of hair that is found in previous bob cuts.
Looking at the back of the style, you will notice that all of the lines in this style form a horseshoe shape.

Wear this bob style curved under, as shown, or tuck the sides behind your ears. They are conveniently long enough to stay put. Another variation is to pull all of the top and sides back into a short pony tail. Leave out any hair that is not long enough to make it to the pony tail. Form an even part between the long and the short areas for an attractive finish.

Hair Color:
To get this hair color, highlights are placed in a large triangle section at the top front of the head. The point of the triangle is at the crown. The wide ends are at the temples. The long strands of blond lay over the dark underneath. Some of the highlighted strands fall toward the back of the style.
