Half-Life 2 Theft and News

Half-Life 2 Theft and News
Half-Life 2 is one of the most highly awaited games in 2004 for the PC. The theft of source code from creator Valve alarmed many fans who eagerly await the release.

The United State FBI has been working closely with officials in Europe to track down the hackers who broke into the Valve servers and made off with some of the source code to Half-Life 2. Most of the hackers have been tracked down in Germany, thanks to an incredible amount of work by gamers who were furious at having their long-awaited release potentially delayed because of the hackers' interference. One hacker turned himself in, and turned on his co-horts. Valve is planning on persuing lawsuits against all involved.

Luckily, the code that was stolen was very preliminary and should not cause a slowdown in the release cycle. Famous actors have already signed up for the voices, including Lou Gossett Jr and Robert Guillaume.

Amazon.com currently has a release date for Half-Life 2 of September 1st - just over a month away. Of course, release dates are VERY well known to slip, especially in the case of Half-Life 2. However, Valve feels relatively certain that the game will be out in the hands of its fans by early September. Get your orders in early!
