Edy's Carb Benefit Chocolate Ice Cream

Edy's Carb Benefit Chocolate Ice Cream
Edy's has entered the low carb ice cream market with their Carb Benefit ice cream line. The flavor is rich, and there are only 3g of carbs per 1/2 cup serving.

The ice cream doesn't taste "diet" at all. This is a premium ice cream with smooth, rich flavors. Splenda allows them to add sweetness without calories or carbs.

The texture is very nice - rich and creamy and smooth. The flavor gives a full, rich taste that lingers. Again, this isn't "light" or "delicate". This works well both in single servings as well as in floats in sundaes.

There are 7g of fiber in this as well, so you even get some fiber in your diet from eating this :)

Well recommended for anyone who loves ice cream! You don't have to be a low carber to appreciate low sugar ice cream that is this delicious :)

I've tried the chocolate chip version too - that has a more mild "base" flavor, with lots of little chip bits scattered into the ice cream.

December 2006 Note
Edy's seems to have discontinued their Carb Benefit line - but they do now have a "no sugar added" line which is pretty much the same. It uses Splenda as a sweetener. Be sure to ask for it - and to buy it - so they keep making it!
