The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug

The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug
The band of thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield along with hobbit, Bilbo Baggins and wizard Gandalf are still on their treacherous journey to reclaim their kingdom under the mountains that was taken away by the dragon, Smaug. During their quest, the group must face dangerous forests, Orcs, spiders and elves. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching "The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug".

∙ At the very beginning of the movie, Betsy, the waitress at the Prancing Pony in Bree puts a plate on the table in front of Thorin. There is bread, cheese and grapes on his plate. Thorin begins to eat the bread but when he notices the two men staring, he puts the bread down on his plate. The cheese is gone and the grapes are near his left hand. A moment later, as his left hand reaches for his sword, the cheese is back on the plate and the grapes are back in their original position.

∙ Bilbo is fighting one of the spiders when he drops the ring in the forest. After he kills the younger spider than immerges from the ground, the close-up of his hand getting the ring shows it's his right hand that's picking it up. It cuts to a front view of Bilbo with the ring and it's in his left hand.

∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! There are thirteen barrels (one for each dwarf) that go into the river when Bilbo rescues the dwarves from the prison cells. At least one gets destroyed on it's way down the river, leaving twelve. But Bard loads fourteen barrels (enough for each dwarf and Bilbo) on the barge.

∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! The Orcs are attacking Bard's home. His daughter, Sigrid, screams and falls unto the cushioned bench and under the table, pulling the bench to the floor on its side. But when she pulls Tilda under the table, the scene then cuts to Bain kicking the same bench which is now upright with the cushion back on it into one of the Orcs before smashing him with it.

"The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug" (2013) stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan, Richard Armitage, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans and the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch. It runs 161 minutes and is rated PG-13 for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence and frightening images.
