The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada
Andy Sachs gets more than she bargained for when she accepts a job as an assistant to the highly demanding Miranda Priestly, the editor of the prestigious fashion magazine “Runway”. Can she keep her sanity and personal life intact? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Devil Wears Prada”.

∙ During the movie’s opening montage, Andy buys a bagel at the bakery. She’s shown walking along the sidewalk and she takes a bite out of it. In the next view of her, she’s shown crossing the street and the bagel is gone. But when she’s walking down the steps to catch the subway, the bagel has reappeared.

∙ Andy is having dinner with her father. In a front view, her dad is shown taking his glasses off. They’re off throughout the rest of the scene. But when Andy mentions that “working for Miranda will open a lot of doors”, a left side view of her dad shows him taking his glasses off again.

∙ While Andy is complaining about Miranda, Nate is making a grilled cheese sandwich. When Andy mentions the “clackers”, Nate is pouring a glass of wine. There is a dish towel over his right shoulder. In the following back view of Nate handing the glass to Andy, the towel on his shoulder is gone. In the very next view of him, Nate takes the towel off his right shoulder.

∙ Andy is at the party where she first meets Christian. Her hair falls around her shoulders but when Christian says “it was nice meeting you,” Andy’s hair is suddenly tucked behind her left ear.

∙ After the “urban jungle” photo shoot scene, Miranda and the others are in the conference room. In each view of Miranda, her right arm is down on the table. But in the back view of her, when she says she’s “pulling the Toobin piece on the Supreme Court women”, her hand is near her face. It cuts to a front view and her arm is on the table again.

∙ While in Paris, Nigel tells Andy he’s accepted another job. They decide to celebrate by opening a bottle of champagne and each is holding a glass. In the far view, when Andy and Nigel are standing opposite each other, Nigel yells that he’s “so excited” and raises his hands in the air but he’s not holding his glass.

“The Devil Wears Prada”(2006) stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker and Adrian Grenier. It runs 109 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some sensuality.
