Enjoying the sun and the garden in Tennessee
The Boeing seemed to go through turbulence throughout the flight into Dallas from London. For me sitting in Seat 47 A it was crazy and scary but with three pilots on board, I decided to watch some films rather than get too worried about the bounce.

There were tons of films to watch esp my favourite drama films. Sat through a very weepy and depressing Jennifer Aniston starrer called Cake. That was one weird move but as usual I decided to watch only because Aniston was in the cast. The food was mediocre and we had just a whole group of men serving us rather than women and that is normally quite hopeless service. No, no I am not being gender biased but the men did not go out of their way to do anything like most of the women hostesses do, no matter their age. Like my request for a glass of water was met with, wait a bit, drinks are coming around and that was a whole half an hour later.

Dallas was not as busy as London was but a little boy flying into Tyson McGhee in Tennessee like I was kept us all entertained with his demands from his really young mother for food. Meanwhile the hostess at the counter kept announcing an offer of 500$ for anyone who would take the flight the next day rather than the current one as it was over booked. I often wonder what they do when that happens as no one seemed to be interested and all went towards the little plane which brought 50 of us into McGhee Tyson airport. The fun was not over as only one of my bags came off the carousel. So we stood in line waiting to make a complaint when an announcement said our bags were there after all.

With great sighs of relief we all grabbed our bags and made our way out into the night. There was my second son who is a cardiologist waiting to collect me. I was seeing him after a year, the last being in cold and blustery Omaha, Nebraska. It was great coming to a more warm and green Tennessee this time.

Andrew had bought a lovely ranch style house which was so much nicer all at one level for a change. Instead of the carpets of Omaha we were met with tiles and woodwork which was so much nicer and easier to maintain. We were always creeping around Omaha floors minus shoes but here we just enjoyed walking around in our slippers.

But the garden is a mess and so that was what we decided to tackle with Spring in the air. First to come in were hot pink Azaleas in the back yard to give it some colour and a few pots of tomatoes and herbs rather than putting them in the ground because we had seen a family of rabbits patrol the back yard.
