Halloween Haven Video Marketing

Halloween Haven Video Marketing
When it comes to Halloween decor, the number one place I go to is Grandin Road's Halloween Haven. Grandin Road is part of Cornerstone Brands, Inc. and has a great section of their website dedicated to Halloween decor products. What makes their Halloween products stand out is their online marketing.

Each year, Halloween Haven features a new inspirational video, featuring the products in a real life - or death - setting. I noticed my first Halloween Haven video entitled It Came From Halloween Haven in 2011. As Halloween is my second favorite holiday after Christmas, I wait impatiently each year since then for their newest video release in July. Each year, the video is worth waiting for and the interrelated marketing gets better.

It Came From Halloween Haven

This 2011 video is five plus minutes in length and a great example of video marketing. One of Halloween Haven's great products is their life size animated figures and in this video their Spell Casting Witch figures take center stage. The video features a group of animated witches stirring a cauldron. Even their Halloween catalog is a part of the video story, as the animated witch "comes to life" as a real actress dressed as a witch tears the front page of the catalog and tosses it into the cauldron. What a great way to introduce their PDF and print catalog.

In another scene, we meet another human, a beautiful actress dressed in all white walking through the graveyard filled with some of their most popular animated zombies. Can't you just picture those zombies on your own front lawn for Trick-or-Treat?

In one of my favorite scenes, which has a great black and white effect, we see our actress all dress up for a top hat skeleton wedding in the Ghostly Lady Costume. Of course, the wedding is packed with guests, which is a great way to introduce their life-sized skeletons.

Now that you are introduced to Halloween Haven, Grandin Road continues the fun with followup videos - one for each animated life-sized figure such as Dr. Shivers Mad Scientist, a green Animated Monster similar to Frankenstein's monster and the Life Size Vampire that sits up in his Coffin. For those on a budget, there are also videos featuring smaller animated Halloween props, such as the Crawling Monster Hand, Dancing Witch's Broom and Velma and Evander Talking Busts.

As you would expect, these movie-quality videos were not cheap to produce, so besides the link to the Halloween Haven site included in the video description, they also embed the YouTube videos into the Halloween Haven store product pages. They even used some screenshots from the video in the print catalog, as well as "Watch it Work!!!" call outs with the url to the online product page.
