Goosebumps

Goosebumps
Zach is the new kid in town when he and his mother move to the small town of Madison, Delaware. Little does he know that they have just moved next door to the famed, reclusive writer, R. L. Stine, and his daughter, Hannah. When Zach strikes up a friendship with Hannah, little does he know that the three, along with school friend, Champ, will be fighting for their lives and the town of Madison, Delaware against the characters set free from the pages of the author’s stories. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Goosebumps”.

∙ Hannah, Zach and Champ are on the trail of the Abominable Snowman. They track him down to the local ice hockey rink. Candy falls onto the ice just before the candy machine comes crashing down. The candy is still on the ice when the Abominable Snowman jumps on top of the machine and grabs the candy bar. But, when he steps off the machine toward Hannah, there are no candy wrappers on the ice. They can be seen again in the farther view when he starts walking toward her. Also in this scene, in the close-up view of the Abominable Snowman, he’s using his left hand to eat the candy bar. His left hand is still near his face when Zach says “Come on, it’s distracted”. It cuts to a rear view of the creature when Zach continues to say “Hannah, come on, let’s go” and the Abominable Snowman’s left hand is on the side of the candy machine as he tries to find more candy.

∙ Stine, Zach, Hannah and Champ stop the vehicle and get out when they notice the town’s people have been frozen. There is no sun roof on top of the vehicle. But, when they scream at the sight of the giant praying mantis, there’s now a sun roof at the top.

∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! At the very end of the movie, when Hannah returns, the front view of her (from behind Zach’s left shoulder) shows her hands are on his shoulder, on the straps of his backpack when she mentions “you owe me a dance”. It cuts to a rear view of her just as Stine set the book on fire and her hands are around Zach’s neck.

“Goosebumps” (2015) stars Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Ryan Lee, Amy Ryan and Jillian Bell. It runs 103 minutes and is rated PG for scary and intense creature action and images, and for some rude humor.
