Summer was always one of the happiest times with my kids. We could get away from the tyranny of school schedules. Our time was our own, and we filled it with fun and learning. There was one worry. How could I keep impulsive kids happy and safe? From hiking to swimming to running the neighborhood, there were always opportunities for joy and danger. The secret to a great summer is planning. Many parents are uncomfortable about limiting their child’s computer freedoms. Hopefully, you already have computer rules in place to protect your child with ADD. Here are a group of policies that I feel are important to help keep your child internet-safe.

Planning is the key to a wonderful summer. Get input from the whole family about activities. Make sure that each family member has something planned that they enjoy. Educate your family about any risks that are inherent in the activities. Monitor children both inside and outside the home. Eat healthy foods most of the time. Enjoy getting some extra rest. Less structured days can be extremely sweet. Enjoy your summer together!
