Tasty Bite Madras Lentils Review

I love Indian food. I'd far rather eat pakoras than fries! When I heard about Tasty Bite Madras Lentils, I was intrigued. How could an Indian lentil dish in a plastic pouch taste good? I was surprised; yes I was!
These lentils taste like a very good chili, but without the load of grease that comes with a lot of chilies that go on hot dogs. I love the way that it tastes and the ingredients used to make me savor its deliciousness. So good! There is nothing with a weird chemical name. The ingredients are water, tomatoes, lentils, red beans, onions, cream, butter, salt, sunflower oil, chilies, and cumin. Each serving is 150 calories, 6 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein, 18 grams of carbohydrate, and 5 grams of fiber. It is a vegetarian food, suitable for Meatless Mondays, but cannot be used as part of a vegan diet, due to the cream and butter.
Tasty Bite Madras Lentils are easy to fix. You can vent the pouch and microwave it in the pouch for a minute. Another option is to put the pouch into a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes. Always be careful with the hot contents of the pouch!
When it comes to being a part of a sandwich meal, Madras Lentils score points in a couple of different categories. Half of a pouch, or five ounces, is a nice serving of warm goodness in a bowl. Use them as a chili-like side dish with a sandwich and some veggies. Grilled cheese, ham and cheese, and quesadillas all work well with this delightful side dish.
My very favorite way to use Madras Lentils is with the lentils substituting for the chili in a knock-your-socks-off chili dog. The hot dog and bun go into a bowl, because of the super loaded way that I make my chili dogs! I heap the hot dog in the bun up with Pico de Gallo and shredded Mexican cheese. Did I mention that this is strictly an eat-it-with-a-fork-or-spoon chili dog?? Then, I pour half of a pouch of steaming hot Madras Lentils on top of everything. The cheese melts and I am ready to dig into this lusciousness. Serve this super chili dog with some high-quality chips, carrots, and celery. Wowser!
My Costco warehouse usually has a good supply of Madras Lentils at an attractive price. You can also buy them on Amazon. In our local area, these products are carried by Target, Hy-Vee, Whole Foods, and Natural Grocers. Try some soon!
