BEE Free Online Email Editor

BEE Free Online Email Editor
In this article, we will continue to discuss the different options for creating responsive HTML email messages. We will talk about BEE Free, a free drag and drop online email editor for designing your own newsletter template.

The BEE system comes in three versions. BEE Free is the basic email builder. As the name indicates, it is free and you don't even need to create an account. BEE Pro is not free but has more features for marketing teams and email agencies. With the BEE Plugin version, you can embed the editor into your SaaS app.

As with the other reviews, we will be talking about the free online version of the email editor. You will start by choosing a template. At this time, there are 32 templates, including 6 animated. These responsive templates use smart media queries for multiple screen, including mobile.

As this is a drag and drop editor, you can click and drag any of the design elements. On the right, there are three panels. From the Content panel you can add any number of text boxes, images, buttons, dividers, social icons and generic HTML blocks. When you select one of the design elements, you will open a Content Properties panel, which displays all the options for the properties for that design element.

For example, the default social icons are Facebook, Twitter and Google+. But you can click the Add New Icon button and choose from a list of the most popular social icons. Of course, you will need to copy/paste your personal or business url for each icon, so that they point to your social sites. You can also choose from several icon designs, set the alignment of the icons and the spacing/padding between them.

Another example is adding images to the layout. You have the option to upload your own image or point to your image url. There is also a Search Free Photos feature, that allows you to search from more than 500,000 free Creative Commons Zero images. Just choose an image and it will be resized and added to your layout. You have the option to edit the image with a few built-in effects or attach a link to the image.

In the Structure panel, you have several content blocks. Each block is a row containing one to four columns. Just drag a block to the layout and add any content in to the block's columns. You can also customize the background color, padding, alignment and borders for the columns.

Once you've customize the template, you can preview your template for both desktop and mobile. When you are ready, you can send a test email to yourself and download the email HTML template to your desktop. The zip file will contain both the HTML and the images. You can also export to a format that you can import in to some email clients, such as MailChimp and others.
