Ghostbusters II
Even though they saved New York City five years earlier, the Ghostbusters find themselves in desperate times. Things start to turn around for them when a sinister force starts to take hold of the city, feeding off the negative energy throughout via rivers of ectoplasm and making Dana Barrett’s young son, Oscar, the target of its manifestation. Will the Ghostbusters be able to save the city again? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for in “Ghostbusters II”.
· Peter, Ray and Egon are at Dana’s apartment to examine Oscar. In the close-up, front view of Oscar, Ray is telling Egon his vitals while holding the tape recorder in his right hand. It cuts to a rear view of Oscar as Ray says, “OK”, and the recorder is now in Ray’s left hand. Ray put the recorder down to check Oscar’s “auditory”. The scene cuts back to the front view of Oscar and Ray is once again holding the recorder in his right hand.
· Egon is trying to show Peter and the others, the effects of the pink slime. After putting slime in the toaster, they place it on the pool table. There is a yellow ball a few inches away from the toaster. As the toaster starts to jump, the ball has moved.
· Egon, Ray and Winston are in the subway tunnels and come across the heads on a stick. Winston has his hard hat on when they first see the heads and start to scream. In the wider view, he takes the flashlight and starts to look, and his hat is gone. The hat is back in the close-up as they continue to scream.
· At the beginning of the movie, the license plate on the Ghostbusters’ vehicle reads “Ecto 1” with the Statue of Liberty decal on the left of the plate. Later in the movie, when the others stop Peter as he’s going to dinner with Dana, the plate reads “Ecto 2” with the Statue of Liberty decal on the left. Closer to the end of the movie, when they pull up outside of the Statue of Liberty, their license plate reads “Ecto 1A” with the decal in the middle of the plate.
“Ghostbusters II” stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Peter MacNicol, Harris Yulin, David Margulies and Kurt Fuller. It runs 108 minutes and is rated PG for frightening and intense scenes and mild language.
