Candyman (1992)

Candyman (1992)
Helen Lyle and her friend, Bernadette Walsh, are working on their thesis regarding urban legends when they find a local story regarding the Candyman. Some legends turn out to be real when they resurrect the murderous, hooked soul by calling his name five times in Helen’s mirror. As Helen seeks out an answer to the legend, her life is turned upside down as the murder count rises. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching 1992’s “Candyman”.

· After being released from jail, Helen is at home. She walks to the bathroom and opens the mirror to the medicine cabinet on the wall. There are four shelves inside the cabinet. In the close-up view, when Candyman’s hook and arm break through the wall, they only break through the top two shelves. The scene cuts to a farther view and all the shelves in the medicine cabinet have been destroyed, leaving a complete hole in the wall.

· Candyman attacks Helen in her apartment and he cuts the left side of her neck. In the close-up view, there are two lines of blood running down her neck with a couple of drops on her white shirt. Trevor arrives and there is more blood on her shirt and smudges on her neck.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Helen is committed to the hospital. While she’s on the stretcher and Candyman appears, she whispers, “Murderer”. The orderlies run in and she yells, “Listen, he’s under the bed. He’s here, he’s under the bed”. A few moments later, she’s taken to Dr. Burke’s office where she’s shown a video of the incident. The tape he plays for her shows the dialogue is different. Helen yells, “Murderer! Murderer! Murderer! Help! He’s here, he’s under the bed, “ before the orderlies get there.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Helen is outside on the window ledge at the hospital and taps on the glass. A nurse walks over and opens it and Helen pushes her down. In the close-up of the nurse hitting the floor, she lands on her back, with Helen’s left hand on her right shoulder. It cuts to a wider view and the nurse is on her stomach and Helen turns her over onto her back to undress her.

“Candyman” (1992) stars Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd, Xander Berkeley, Kasi Lemmons, Vanessa Williams, DeJuan Guy, and Marianna Elliott. It runs 99 minutes and is rated R for violence and gore.
