Prancer

Prancer
It’s difficult times for the Riggs family. After the death of her mother and her financially strapped dad becoming more distant, Jessica clings to her belief in Santa and the joy of Christmas. When Jessica happens upon an injured reindeer, who she’s convinced is Santa’s reindeer Prancer, the young girl makes it her mission to take care of the animal and to return it back to Santa on Christmas Eve. In doing so, Jessica unknowingly sparks the holiday cheer in those in the small town where she lives. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Prancer”.

· The display of Santa and his sleigh is being raised outside. In the first close-up view of Prancer, the bells on the railroad are heard along with the train horn. In the lower left of the screen, the crossing bar is elevated. It cuts to a wider view of the display and the workers and the crossing bar is down.

· Carol and Jessica are eating lunch at school, talking about Santa. In the front view of Jessica, when she mentions she has a magazine with a picture of Santa and the elves that she had cut out, her pickle is laying on the paper in front of her sandwich. Carol asks if she’s going to eat her pickle, takes it and starts eating it. In the front view of Jessica when Carol says she doesn’t believe in Santa anymore, the pickle is gone. A few moments later, when Jessica jumps up and tells Carol they’re not friends anymore, the pickle has reappeared.

· Jessica shoos away the kid in the barn with Prancer and shuts the door behind her. It’s still shut when she’s talking to Prancer. Jessica runs out a moment later and the barn door is open. She turns and shuts it again.

· John is sitting on the couch reading the paper while the others are at church. At one point, it can be seen snowing in the window behind him. Prancer walks by and the view of the window shows it’s not snowing. The next close-up of John shows it’s snowing again.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! John and Jessica stop the truck and lift the gate in the back to set Prancer free. The close-up of Prancer shows the red belt with the silver bells is around his neck. In the next close-up view, when Jessica is talking to him, the belt and bells are gone. They’re back when Prancer jumps off the truck.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! John and Jessica watch Santa’s sleigh from the cliff where Prancer jumped. In the close-up view, they’re standing next to each other and John’s arms are wrapped around Jessica. In the wider view of Santa’s sleigh, John and Jessica are standing several feet apart.

“Prancer” (1989) stars Sam Elliott, Rebecca Harrell Tickell, Cloris Leachman, Rutanya Alda, Abe Vigoda, Michael Constantine, John Duda, Ariana Roberts, Mark Rolston and Johnny Galecki. It runs 103 minutes and is rated G.
