Pinetree Seed 2022 catalog
The Pinetree seed catalog for 2022 is now available. It has many fine new varieties.

Allure bi-color corn is an early variety with a long harvest season. The plants are 6 to 7 feet in height and very resistant to common rust. The 8 inch long ears have 16 to 18 rows of bicolored sweet plump kernels.

Wasabina is new for 2022. This is a special type of Japanese mustard greens. It is named for the wasabi-like flavor. As the plant grows, the taste becomes slightly stronger tasting. This is ready to harvest in 45 days.

Acadia spinach can be planted in spring or in the fall. It is a cut and come again variety. Ready to harvest in 27 days, this also overwinters well. The disease resistant plant is slow to bolt.

Black salsify is a new root crop, hardy to zone 5. Ready to harvest in 120 days, this root vegetable can be overwintered. The second year, gardeners can harvest the leaves and blossoms.

Seaside spinach is a new bolt resistant variety. Harvest can begin in 30 days. This can also be harvested as a baby green or left to mature. The uniform, disease resistant plants are upright.

Chiffon zucchini is a yellow colored zucchini with a tender skin. Ready in 50 days, it is mostly seedless. The plants are disease resistant. The compact plants are strong. These squash are ready to pick in 50 days.

In addition to seeds, Pinetree also has many kinds of dahlias and peonies along with other edibles, such as sweet potato plants, strawberry plants, Catawba grapes, and ramps. The new seed potatoes include Caribou Russet.

Some of the other new vegetable varieties include Sunrise Sauce tomato, Tropicana leaf lettuce, and Little Snow Pea Purple.

Teot Bat Put squash is a new Korean squash that can be picked when immature for summer squash or left on the vine to become a winter squash. This variety can be grown on a trellis.

Some of the new edible flowers include various kinds of nasturtiums with an example being Bloody Mary nasturtium. The Double Delight Cream nasturtium is also new.

There are also some wonderful new edible marigolds. The catalog features two new flower colors in the Gem series of Signet marigolds. These lovely marigolds bear edible petals, which add a citrus-like aroma to foods. The Red Gem and Orange Gem marigolds are new. The plants are a foot or so in height.

Normally, gardeners might be trying to get rid of dandelions. However, Pinetree has a new pink flowered dandelion that is perfect for vegetable gardens and herb gardens. Native to Asia, this is hardy to zone 3. The lovely blooms are the color of apricots. The leaves and the flowers are edible, while the plant also has medicinal uses as well.

The Pinetree catalog offers so many other items besides garden seed. These include soap making supplies, New England wool yarn, dried herb, fragrant oils, and a wide selection of spices and teas.
