Grape leaf anemone and Honorine Jobert anemone are great chouces for the home landscape.

Grape leaf anemone is a hybrid that does well in zones three through eight. It is the most adaptable and the most hardy of the anemones. This is also quite free flowering and the most vigorous plant as well.

Grape leaf is a spectacular plant and looks quite different than the other anemones. The very large sturdy plants resemble a shrub more than a perennial. This forms a large, spreading clump with a fibrous woody root stock. The leaves feature three leaflets.

This does well in sun to part shade. It prefers an organic, moist soil.
Grape leaf anemone is three to four feet in height with a matching spread. A spacing of three feet or so between plants is recommended.
The well branched stems feature large, lobed, and toothed, oval leaves. These remain healthy looking throughout the season. The foliage is four to eight inches long, and is deeply divided. Slightly bristly, the leaves are medium green..

This anemone is a beloved variety that is award winning. It received the Royal Horticultural Society’s award of garden merit. This was also named the Perennial of the Year in 2016.

It is considered one of the best of the fall flowers. The plant is a classic hybrid that is perfect for cottage gardens.

Honorine Jobert anemone is well suited to the Lower South because it is tolerant of heat and high humidity. The plant is suited to sun and part shade. Winter mulch is helpful,

A spacing of twenty inches works well. The plant is recommended for zones four through ten. The plant has been around since 1858.

The tall, branching, vigorous perennial is three to four feet tall with a spread of over 1 ½ feet. The stems are wiry. It remains one of the most popular anemones.

The deeply divided leaves form a mound, and remain attractive throughout the season.

Part shade is preferred. This plant is very free flowering, which explains some of its popularity. Another thing that makes it so appealing is the elegant flowers.
The blossoms may not be as large as that of some other anemones, but their beauty is unsurpassed. So, it continues to charm another generation of gardeners. Honorine Jobert anemone was discovered in Verdun, France in the garden of M. Jobert.

It is the hardiest of the white flowered anemones. Flowering is from late summer into fall.

The single blooms are two to three inches wide. Slightly cupped, they’re pure white with the exception being the yellow stamens.

Honorine Jobert’s blossoms, two to three inches wide, can contain up to eleven, frilly, crisp petals. The flowers are held well above the foliage. The outer petals overlap, and are very broad. The flower stems are up to three feet tall. The inner petals can be distorted.
