Polaner Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves

Polaner Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves
Whether you're making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or looking for a fruity flavor on any other snack, I really like Polaner's sugar free spread. In fact, I just ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich made with these preserves.

The preserves are sweetened with Splenda, instead of the mounds of sugar that are normally found in store-bought jams, jellies and preserves. There are only 5g carbs per serving as a result. Those carbs are in essence coming from the raspberries, not from the sweetener added. If 5g sound high - realize that this has **80%** fewer calories than a standard preserve does! They really dump sugar into normal jams and jellies. Avoid those normal ones at all costs! No wonder our kid are turning into rolling blimps :)

OK back to the preserves. A serving is about 1 Tablespoon, which I found to be perfectly great for my sandwich. It has 0g of fat. No fat of all at any kind. It also has 0g of sodium!! Talk about a great food product. It goes have that 5g of carbs, and then 0g of protein.

Ah, but how does it taste? I really like it. The preserves spread on quite easily. It is a nice rich, red color and has small occasional chunks of strawberry which gives it a really nice texture. The flavor is fresh strawberry without overpowering whatever else you have it in.

We buy our preserves in the 13.5oz container which is just about the size of a can of soda. I'm afraid I don't have the price on that - I recall it was fairly reasonable. The next time I'm in a store, I'll get that and update this article.

We have this with our sandwiches all the time, as an alternative to grape jelly. We also sometimes put this on cucumber slices, it's very good that way too. There are all sorts of other snack ideas that you could create, depending on your taste preferences. You could of course put this over low carb ice cream, or on top of a low carb cake.

Highly recommended!
